Job Summary:
The Parts Warehouseman is responsible for the proper receiving, storage, organization, monitoring, and issuance of automotive parts and other materials within the dealership warehouse. This role ensures accurate inventory records, proper handling of company assets, and efficient parts movement to support the Sales and Service Departments. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parts Receiving and Storage
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming automotive parts and materials against delivery documents.
- Properly label, organize, and store parts according to established warehouse procedures.
- Ensure parts are protected from damage, loss, or deterioration while in storage.
- Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records for all parts and materials.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile actual shocks with system records.
- Identify inventory discrepancies and report them promptly to the supervisor.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and critical parts to support efficient stock management.
- Parts Issuance and Distribution
- Release automotive parts and materials based on approved requests and proper documentation.
- Coordinate with the Service and Parts Departments to ensure timely availability of required parts.
- Ensure accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
- Warehouse Operations and Organization
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and proper arrangement of the warehouse and storage areas.
- Assist in loading and unloading parts, supplies, and deliveries when necessary.
- Ensure proper handling and movement of automotive parts and other company materials.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare inventory logs, receiving reports, issuance records, and warehouse-related documentation.
- Encode and update inventory data using Microsoft Office applications and applicable inventory systems.
- Assist in preparing periodic inventory and warehouse performance reports.
- Asset Accountability and Compliance
- Safeguard company-owned parts, tools, and materials entrusted to the warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies, warehouse procedures, and safety standards.
- Report damaged, missing, or unaccounted-for items immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
- General Support and Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers, delivery personnel, and internal departments regarding parts and warehouse requirements.
- Perform multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting operational deadlines.
- Carry out other warehouse-related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3-4 years of college-level education
- Previous experience in a warehouse setting, preferably involving automotive parts
- Must know how to drive and possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities
- Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office applications
- Good communication skills
- Well-organized, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented
- Trustworthy, with integrity and responsibility in handling company assets
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
